Pablo Romero, MD, a native of Querétaro, Mexico, is board-certified in Family Medicine. He attended Hartnell College, where he received an Associates Degree in 1974, and then completed his undergraduate education at UC Irvine, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1976. His medical training took place at the University of California, San Francisco, and he received his M.D. in 1980. He completed his residency at Natividad Medical Center in 1983 where he served as chief resident, with board certification the same year. He has served the Salinas Valley area since 1980, as a Family Medicine doctor. He has full obstetrical privileges at Salinas Valley Memorial hospital. He is also currently a committee member for the development of the PRIME-US program at UCSF Medical School, a flagship program focusing on the development of healthcare professionals in underserved urban populations.

Dr. Lawrence Barcelo, a California native, served in the US Army from 1968-1970, on active duty in the Republic of Vietnam as a Vietnamese interpreter. Shortly after his return, he served as an organizer for the United Farm Worker’s Union. He then attended UC Davis from 1974-1976. He attended UCSF from 1976 to 1980, receiving both his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology and his M.D. He completed both his residency and fellowship at Contra County Hospital in Martinez, California, before moving to Salinas in 1983 to begin working in private practice at Santa Lucia Medical Group. A Family medicine physician with obstetrical privileges at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital and has held staff appointments as the chairman of quality assurance for both obstetrics and family medicine at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, and most recently held a position as Chairman of Family medicine from 1999-2001
Dr. Orlando Rodriguez, Born in Bogota, Colombia, and raised in California, Dr. Orlando Rodriguez attended the University of Southern California, from which he graduated with honors with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychobiology in 1979. He then attended medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, and graduated with an M.D. in 1983. He received training for his internship and residency at Natividad Medical Center, where he later served for 10 years as a Clinical Faculty member.
As a Family medicine physician, he enjoys full obstetrical privileges at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. As a current Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF, he continues to train medical students in Family Medicine. He is currently the Chairman of Family Medicine at Salinas Valley Memorial of 2009.

Dr. Luciano Del Toro Vargas

Luciano Del Toro Vargas, MD, born in Jalisco, Mexico, graduated with honors and Summa Cum Laude from the Autonomous University of Nayarit, Mexico where he earned his MD degree.  Prior to starting his residency in the U.S., he volunteered at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento California and University of California, Davis, in the area of cardiac surgery and trauma unit respectively.  He actively worked in pharmaceutical research in San Diego California developing vaccines for various types of cancer.  He then started his internship in 2005 and successfully completed his residency training in 2008 at the University of California, Los Angeles.

During his residency training he was the resident’s representative for the Advance Cardiac Life Support and CODE BLUE committee at UCLA Santa Monica and Orthopedic Hospital, he actively participated in the area of pediatrics in conjunction with the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA.  He also received extensive training in the area of Obstetrics at UCLA and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.  He is interested in Emergency Medicine and is a member of an international health organization for underdeveloped countries.   Most recently he was an instructor for the Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics course conducted by the American Academy of Family Physicians.



Kimberly Reiland, PA-C, is a California native who attended CSU Long Beach to earn her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dietetics and Food Administration in 1998. She then attended Barry University in Miami Shores, FL, to earn her Master of Clinical Medical Sciences and Physician Assistant Certificate in 2004. She completed clinical rotations in Florida before returning to California in 2005. Before joining Santa Lucia Medical Group in 2006, she worked as a Physician’s Assistant for a large Family Medicine/Urgent Care Clinic in Gilroy.



Martha Campbell, has worked at Santa Lucia Medical Group for over 20 years, since the clinic first opened its doors in 1987. A graduate of North Salinas High School, who attended Hartnell College for general education until 1991, Martha has since completed several certification programs in coding, payroll, and Healthy Families billing. A lifelong resident of the Salinas Valley, she began her tenure at Santa Lucia in the business office of the clinic, and as the supervisor of the business office for 10 years, before becoming the Office Manager in 2000.

Barbara Lindstrom, received her A.S. in Radiology from Santa Barbara City College in 1993. She then attended a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver, Colorado in 1994. Following a 4-year tenure at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, she began working at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in 1998 as an Ultrasound Technician. She joined Santa Lucia Medical Group in June of 2003.
